Young Leader Scouts (14-18)

Young Leader Scouts (14-18)

Young Leaders are Explorer Scouts who volunteer alongside adult leaders in a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop and are a valuable asset to any leadership team.

They play an active role in the section, bringing a range of fresh ideas to the table, and acting as positive role models for the young people they work alongside, and also have the option to belong to an Explorer Unit, and take part in Explorer activities.

The Young Leader development scheme contains 11 modules and four missions for participants to work through whilst volunteering in their preferred ‘section’ (Beavers, Cubs or Scouts) if they so choose. Modules provide the skills and knowledge to be successful in their role, while missions put everything into practice with support. As well as developing valuable life skills, the Scheme is an opportunity for Young Leaders to make a positive impact in their communities. This is often undertaken by those who are also working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
