Scouts (10.5-14.5 yrs)

Our adventurous programmes aim to offer the widest range of activities for young people in this age range to encourage them to become self-reliant, self-confident and an asset to the community.

Our Scouts operate in Patrols of 6-7 young people who, under adult supervision, undertake all types of exciting, interesting and adventurous activities based on the Scout Challenge scheme.

By being a member or leader of a Patrol, Scouts learn those really important life skills of being part of or leading an effective team, working together, communicating and participating. Many life-long friendships have been made through being a member of the Scouts.

In Scouts there are plenty of opportunities for adventure and fun. You will be able to try lots of different activities like canoeing, exploring, cooking and hiking. By completing activities Scouts gain a badge to wear on their uniform. There are over thirty activity badges to choose from and nine different challenge areas to discover.

Camping at our annual week-long Summer Camp and our weekend camps is great fun

Our Scout programme runs throughout the year, including an informal series of activities during the school holidays. There are also opportunities to take part in events run by Sutton District so they can meet and join other troops in the locality.

Scouts are able to work through their skills and challenge badges and to gain the Chief Scout Gold award. The highest badge in the Scout section.
