Residential Home Visit

Date: 3rd Feb 2020 Author: Ingrid Hodges

On Saturday 1st February the Beavers and Cubs visited the residents of Mickleham Gardens to present a special New Year performance of singing and poetry. They worked extremely hard throughout January rehearsing, and it was so lovely for them to perform to such an appreciative audience, who clearly enjoyed singing along too!

Special congratulations must go to Jackson, Sam and Edward who each performed a poem on their own, as part of their Beaver Personal Challenge Badge.

Some of the Cubs chose to write their own poems about happiness especially for the show. So well done to Niall, George B, Mia K, Mia H, Emily, Lily and Molly who all performed their own poems, plus Tristan who performed a poem by Tennyson that he knew off by heart!

After the show they returned to HQ for a special treat of pizza and games!

It was a fun afternoon, combining great work in the community with completing elements of their challenge badges. Plus all the Cubs earned their Entertainer badge!

Thank you to all the parents that helped during the afternoon – we have such great support from our parents that it makes the role of leading so much easier.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
