With the resumption of face to face meetings and the ‘green light’ to recommence our ‘nights away’ events we are very pleased to be able to announce some of our plans for 2022.
Our Cub Pack is planning a two night camp at Frylands Wood campsite and activity centre. ‘This is open to all of our Cubs who will be able to join in lots of great activities, add to their nights away awards as well as completing parts of their challenge badges’ said 1st Cheam’s Cub Scout Leader.
The Scout Troop have a really active year planned. The first event will be a full week cruising on the English Waterways with two narrow boats booked in the Easter holidays and an aim to complete the ‘Warwickshire Ring’ a route of over 100 miles with a similar number of locks to be operated and three tunnels to navigate.
This will be followed by a two night camp during the Whitsun break and then, at the beginning of the summer school holidays our annual full week summer camp for which plans are well under way. Finally, we anticipate a weekend camp in the Autumn of 2022. Our Troop Scout leader said ‘This extensive programme of outdoor activities will give our Scouts plenty of opportunity to get out and about and develop those really important skills for life of leadership, teamwork and self reliance. Scouts taking part in all of these events would accumulate a total of 17 nights away next year’.
