2020 – Scouts Top Patrol

Date: 21st Jan 2021 Author: Jonathan Long

Congratulations go the Woodpigeon patrol who are the winners of the 2020 Scout patrol points trophy. This trophy has been in the 1st Cheam Group since 1933 and is awarded each year to the patrol of Scouts who have accumulated the highest number of points across all of their activities throughout the year.

The 1st Cheam Troop Scout Leader said, ‘There is always very strong competition between our Scouts to be the best patrol for the year.  Despite the disrupion   from the Covid pandemic that have moved many of our meeting onto ‘Zoom’ this year I am pleased to say that we were still able to run our annual Competition.    The Woodpigeon patrol came first by a very close margin. I congratulate all of the Scouts for joining in this competition throughout the year and in particular        the Woodpigeon patrol as winners. We hope that the 2021 competition will be as much fun as that in 2020 and hopefully will reflect a return to face to face meetings and our usual comprehensive and varied activity programme.’

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
