1st Cheam Remembers

Date: 17th Nov 2021 Author: Ingrid Hodges

Over 50 Beavers, Cubs and Scouts along with leaders and a good selection of parents attended the Cheam Remembrance Sunday gathering in the memorial gardens in Cheam. As is customary the Group laid a wreath at the memorial on behalf of the Group and Scouts in Cheam.

A senior leader said ‘ this was an excellent turnout by the Group’s members and I thank all those who attended. Having not been able to attend as a Group last year, due to the Covid restrictions, it was particularly good to see so many of our young people engaged in this important event – the first ‘all group’ event we have been able to run for well over 18 months.’

Before the meeting the Scouting Medal of Merit for outstanding services to Scouting, was presented to one of the Group’s Beaver leaders.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
