1st Cheam Group Reflects

Date: 25th Nov 2019 Author: Ingrid Hodges

Remembrance Sunday is an important day of reflection for all of us.   Members of the 1st Cheam Scout Group joined the Royal British Legion, other uniformed organisations and the Sutton Mayor and Council members at the Cheam memorial gardens at this year’s Remembrance Sunday observations on Sunday 10th November.
Following tradition, a senior Group leader laid a wreath in memory of the fallen. The Group’s colours were flown and ‘dipped’ during the act of reflection before the Group attended the Service of Remembrance at nearby St Dunstan’s church.
‘Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts were very well represented and accompanied by many parents and friends of the Group.  We regard this special day as an important occasion where, as representatives for the young people of Cheam, we are able to publicly recognise the sacrifice of others’, said the Scout Section Leader.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
