Our camp site is situated in Surrey and is named Kings Oak as it was the weekend home of the group’s first Scout Master William King. Read more about the history click here
The camp site is a double plot of land on Boxhill, Surrey which is situated in the Mole Valley District. It is a wonderful asset purchase in trust during 1948 for the use of 1st Cheam Scout Group and is regularly used for weekend camps, hikes and firework parties.

The bungalow has two rooms which has several bunk beds allowing for it to be used even in December for the Patrol Leaders camp
The garage was lined and is now used as the mess hut with its own heating stove.
The local shop a short walk away ensures that supplies never dry up.
The Heath enables all sections to undertake all sections of their outdoor challenges from hiking to compass work, tree identification, wide games and bark rubbings.
The maintenance is carried out by loyal supporters of the group, parents and friends
at their twice yearly working parties. The grass is cut throughout the summer by a group of Leaders and friends. If you can spare two hours to help increase the rota of helpers then please contact any one of the Leaders.
All dates of working parties and spaces on the summer rota will be shown on the news column of the home page.
